Satcast helps you use your iPhone's satellite features: it shows where the satellites are, plans when to send, and prepares what you send through Apple's apps.
Not an emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number, or press and hold the side button and either volume button for Emergency SOS. With no signal, your iPhone offers Emergency SOS via satellite. Satcast's SOS tab shows the number for where you are and Apple's steps.

Questions
- Does Satcast connect to satellites?
- No. iOS keeps its satellite link for Apple's own features: Emergency SOS, Messages, Find My and Roadside Assistance via satellite. No app can send data over it. Satcast shows where the satellites are and when to send, and prepares the messages you send in Messages.
- Which iPhones does it work with?
- Satcast runs on iOS 18 or later. Apple's satellite features need iPhone 14 or later and are offered only in some countries. Satcast's Plan tab and Status screen show which services Apple lists for a country.
- The sky view shows a satellite, but my iPhone can't connect. Why?
- Satellite positions are predictions. Trees, terrain, buildings and weather can block the signal, and the satellite must also reach a ground station. Move into the open and try again when Satcast shows a satellite high in the sky.
- How fresh is the orbit data?
- Satcast comes with orbit data and downloads fresh data from CelesTrak about twice a day when you're online. Data a few weeks old still points well; Status shows its age.
- What does Satcast Pro add?
- Plan, for any place and any of the next 7 days, and trip check-in reminders timed to satellite passes, for one purchase. Sky, Check in, SOS, the trip card and the back-by and alarm-time reminders are free.
- I bought Pro before. How do I get it back?
- Open Status (tap the connection chip at the top of any screen) and tap Restore Purchases, signed in to the same Apple Account you bought it with.
- How do I get a refund?
- Apple handles App Store refunds: reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Why can't I send a group check-in?
- Messages via satellite doesn't support group messages, so Satcast sends to one person at a time.
- How do I delete my data?
- Everything Satcast keeps is on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes it. See the Privacy Policy.
